Greenhouse Test
The rim is placed in a curing oven at 80°C for 4 hours with a tire inflated to 65 psi. Measurements are taken at six evenly spaced points.
Pass criteria
● Outer width change: ≤5%
● Spoke tension loss: ≤15%
Result vs. limit
● Maximum outer width change: 1.2%
● Maximum spoke tension loss: 6%
The measured width change was 76% below the maximum allowed limit. The measured spoke tension loss was 60% below the maximum allowed limit.
For the rider, this means the tested rim retained its shape and spoke tension well within Light Travel’s limits after high-temperature exposure. This reduces concern about heat-related deformation or tension loss under the tested conditions.
