LTC Carbon Fiber Thru Axle 29.5
The thru-axle is the sole mechanical interface connecting the wheelset to the frame. Forces from acceleration, braking, and lateral loads during high-speed cornering are all transmitted through this slim component. Our factory’s road bike thru-axle has undergone repeated iterative optimisation. Constructed from PAEK thermoplastic carbon fibre combined with titanium alloy, it weighs only 29.5 grams.
Test data as follows:
Tensile Strength: >1,050 kgf, No rider can generate such tension through pedalling, even crash impacts fail to reach this load level .
Torsional Strength: Rated at 15 Nm, with real test results exceeding 25 Nm. The recommended tightening torque ranges from 8 to 12 Nm, delivering more than triple the safety margin.
Shear Strength: >10,000 N. This value reflects the bonding strength between carbon fibre layers. It is no vague theoretical parameter; third-party test reports are available upon request.
For small components like thru-axles, sufficient strength never comes from simply stacking excess raw materials, but from well-calculated safety factors. With precise manufacturing processes, carbon fibre delivers performance comparable to any metal alternative in this application.
Manufactured with PAEK thermoplastic carbon fibre, this thru-axle boasts superior toughness compared with conventional thermoset epoxy carbon fibre products. It resists brittle fracture under impact and offers outstanding fatigue resistance for long-distance riding. It withstands temperatures up to 260°C, capable of handling heat transferred from sustained disc brake braking. The base material features built-in UV resistance to prevent ageing during long-term outdoor use. The material is suitable for closed-loop recycling, complying with the EU’s latest environmental regulations. It balances lightweight design, riding safety and long-term durability.
